Travel writing and photography are a great combination. What a camera can't record, words will. On these pages are images and words from some great places. Starting with an old man in Havana.
"Do you want cigars?", the old man selling newspapers
whispered. He wore a pink hat. The newspapers were thin and unappealing, with no pictures. He was standing in front of a rough wall in the old city of Havana. On the wall was a faded image of Che - youthful, energetic, victorious. The man's eyes were the opposite, tired, exhausted and beaten.
Perhaps the newspaper seller had once fought alongside Che, been a part of the glorious revolution, but by now the stuffing had been knocked out of him. The trials of Cuba were in the lines on his face.
